PROBLEM:

When you are a large regional healthcare provider and you realize how behind you are in piloting and implementing digital technology for customer or patient experience what are your options? This business decided that my technology background and success in financial services was immediately translatable to helping them develop a digital strategy. It’s a great example of looking outside your industry for best practices, as they realized the adoption of digital tech in financial services was at least 10 years ahead of healthcare adoption.

As a $3.5B Minneapolis-based health provider and regional leader wanted to understand how telehealth and mobile health might be opportunities to expand their patient network, improve patient care and satisfaction, and reduce costs. They were also interested in fit with their branding.

CHALLENGE:

APPROACH:

I authored a transformational strategy and 3-year business plan aligned with the business’ mission, goals, and values to define, test and pilot new service offerings for twelve target practice areas (cardio-vascular, psychiatry, telestroke).

RESULTS:

Executive management endorsed the strategy and approved the plan along with requested capital and operational investments and is actively implementing.
